BJU Press Vision for Technology
Technology Guided by Principle
Teachers and students deserve tools that make a difference. Discover how BJU Press approaches technology with purpose; ensuring our technology solutions serve—never drive—the mission of Christian education.
The Need for Educational Technology
Delivering academically rigorous and biblically shaped content to 21st century teachers and students requires a strong technology base. Because we are committed to equipping teachers and students with all the resources they need for success, our technology resources work to enhance the value of BJU Press materials.
Our technology is rooted in a biblical worldview and in our own trusted content, helping to streamline teacher workflow and keep Bible-shaped thinking at the heart of learning.
BJU Press offers a variety of technology resources that complement our BJU Press textbook products. We offer instructional resources, professional development, differentiated activities, homework help, test creation, and much more across our easy-to-use, affordable technology platforms.
Empowering Christian educators to prepare students to live in light of eternity shapes the technology decisions we make.
How BJU Press Views, Engages, and Develops Technology
Support
Technology has transformed traditional methods of teaching and learning. Acknowledging that today’s students were born into a technological world and that technology serves a vital role in their future-readiness, we endorse or provide technology solutions that will extend, enrich, and enliven learning, encouraging students to become lifelong learners. Our synergistic relationship with biblical worldview shaping, critical thinking, and academic rigor strengthens the academic experience for teachers and students alike.
Inform
We study current trends in pre-K to grade 12 education to carefully choose technology that promotes student learning. Additionally, we provide solutions that adhere to current educational technology standards and promote the integration of 21st century skills into the teaching cycle of our lessons.
As part of our mission to equip teachers, BJU Press offers over 70 professional development workshops. These free sessions are available online for flexible viewing and include a CEU certificate upon completion. We also have a podcast—the BJU Press Teacher Edition® Podcast—tailored for Christian school educators that offers practical and scholarly advice and encouragement from teachers, administrators, and educational partners.
Lead
We strive to maintain our position as the industry leader in Christian education by creating optimal student learning experiences. Purposeful technology integration enhances the learning experience and provides students with skills and tools they need to thrive in the classroom and beyond. From collaborative activities to critical-thinking exercises to complex concept support, our digital learning experiences engage students, personalize learning, and prepare them for the future.
Innovate
BJU Press continues to offer innovative technology solutions. BJU Press Trove® is the premier learning experience platform for teachers and students using BJU Press materials in Christian schools. Trove makes it easy to find instructional resources, build sharable lesson plans, create digital or printed assessments, and interact with students in an online environment. Video streaming is available in Trove through LessonNow—pre-recorded lessons taught by experienced BJU Press instructors. These lessons support classroom teachers, substitute teachers, and facilitators managing group instruction. Also in Trove, Be CyberSmart! challenges students from K5 to grade 12 to navigate the digital world biblically, safely, and wisely. AfterSchoolHelp offers academic support outside the classroom for students in grades 1–12 writing & grammar, grades 1–12 math, and select science subjects.
Guided by Principle
At BJU Press, we view technology as an important partner in 21st century education. When used wisely, technology can empower teachers, provide meaningful learning experiences, increase access to educational resources, and streamline daily classroom tasks.
Yet technology is only valuable when it advances educational goals and supports the people it serves. We believe the teacher remains central to the learning experience, and we reject the notion that technology should replace the wisdom, discernment, creativity, and relationships that define great teaching.
For this reason, our educational technology team evaluates the technology solutions BJU Press offers through a set of four guiding principles. These principles ensure innovation remains aligned with proven educational best practices, a solid biblical worldview, and the needs of the Christian educators and students we serve.
Our Four Guiding Technology Principles
These four guiding principles ensure innovation remains aligned with proven educational best practices, a solid biblical worldview, and the needs of the Christian educators and students we serve.
- Human First
- Biblically Rooted
- Trusted & Transparent
- Responsibly Innovative
Human First: We prioritize human stewardship.
Technology should support the work of teachers and students—not replace it. We design tools to support instructional integrity, human discovery, and critical thinking.
Our Approach to Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence is one of many technologies shaping the future of education. Like any tool, its value depends on how it is used.
BJU Press views AI through the same guiding principles listed above. We believe AI can help streamline workflows, support personalized instruction, increase efficiency, and expand learning opportunities when implemented responsibly and within appropriate boundaries.
Our use of AI is guided by several commitments:
- AI use should align with biblical truth and educational purpose.
- Human judgment remains essential in all significant decisions.
- AI should support, not replace, human creativity, relationships, and responsibility.
- AI-assisted content should be reviewed and evaluated by people.
- Data privacy, transparency, and security must remain priorities.
- AI should be used only when it advances our mission and provides meaningful value to educators and students.
These commitments shape AI-powered experiences across BJU Press technology offerings, including solutions such as Trove Inspire.
We seek to use AI in ways that help educators teach more effectively, help students learn more deeply, and ultimately support the transformational work of Christian education.
Technology in Service of the Mission
Our mission has not changed, even as technology continues to evolve.
At BJU Press, we will continue to evaluate, engage, and develop technology through the lens of biblical truth, educational excellence, and faithful stewardship. Whether through digital resources, learning platforms, or AI-powered tools, our goal remains the same:
To empower educators to prepare students to live in light of eternity.
